OGGY AND THE COCKROACHES AT THE STROKE OF MIDNIGHT SERIES
The characters from the original series had received changes for this reboot – while Jack, Bob and Olivia are now minor characters, Oggy and Olivia's relationship remains vague (as they were married in the original's season 4 finale), Kevin (a new character) now lives with Bob, and some characters have received changes in personality – some of them having redesigns. Vincent Artaud, who also became the new composer for the original (since its fifth season) among other Xilam titles (including Zig & Sharko), also returns for this new incarnation.įurther information: Oggy and the Cockroaches § Characters Voices were provided by Hugues Le Bars, within re-used audio clips for the eponymous characters (new recordings were made for this show due to his passing), and Kaycie Chase as Piya, the latter of whom also performed the opening theme. However, like the original, the reboot also lacks any actual dialogue – characters frequently express themselves with a variety of noises. The series noticeably tones itself down compared to Oggy and the Cockroaches, with a focus on Oggy's friendship with Piya.

Unlike the original and its spinoff ( Oggy Oggy), both of which had episodes that last 22 minutes and contain three self-contained segments, Next Generation 's episodes last for 43 minutes with six segments each. Aside from the titular characters, the series also introduces the addition of the seven-year old Piya – an optimistic elephant from India who unintentionally adds onto Oggy's daily struggles. Like the original series, it focuses on the wacky antics of Oggy and the trio of mischievous cockroaches that live in his house. It is a reboot of Xilam's long-running animated series, Oggy and the Cockroaches. Oggy and the Cockroaches: Next Generation ( French: Oggy et les Cafards: Nouvelle Génération) is a French animated series produced by Xilam Animation for the streaming service Netflix.
